Of course, it' s food. When you eat it, you recove 5 LIFE. There are many ways to eat them, but it is best to cook them lightly. Eat them as soon as you get them, as they go bad easily and cannot be stored.
 もちろん、食料のこと。これを食べるとLIFEが5だけ回復する。食べ方はいろいろだけど、軽く火を通したほうがいい。いたみが早く、ストックしておくことはできないので、とったらすぐ食べること。

It is an important food. It increases the player's LIFE 5. This is the best way to steadily increase your LIFE without entering a home or inn.
 大切な食料。LIFEが5増える。家や宿に入らずに地道にLIFEを増やすにはコレだ。
スーパーパン / Super Bread

JICC guidebook
It is a powered-up version of regular bread, and it restores your LIFE to 99. However, as soon as you pick it up, it will be interpreted as having been eaten. If you can afford it, don't take it.
 通常のパンのパワーアップ版。LIFEが99に回復する。ただし、手に取った途端に食べたことと解釈されてしまう。余裕があれば取らないでおこう。

Note

In the MSX1 version, the upper limit of LIFE is 100.
Taking bread from a monster increases your LIFE 5.
Taking a treasure chest increases your LIFE to 100.
 MSX1版ではLIFEの上限は100。
モンスターからパンを取るとLIFEが5増える。
宝箱からパンを取るとLIFEが100まで増える。
In the MSX2, FC, NES, and MOBILE PHONE versions, the upper limit of LIFE is 109.
Taking bread from a monster increases your LIFE 5.
If you take a bread from a treasure chest when your LIFE is 98 or less, your LIFE will increase to 99.
If you take a bread from a treasure chest when your LIFE is 99 or more, your LIFE will increase 1.
 MSX2, FC, NES, 携帯電話版ではLIFEの上限は109。
モンスターからパンを取るとLIFEが5増える。
LIFEが98以下の時に宝箱からパンを取るとLIFEが99まで増える。
LIFEが99以上の時に宝箱からパンを取るとLIFEが1増える。
