Important treasures and important paths are guarded by chests and doors. The only thing that can open them is a magical key, said to have been made by the elves long ago. Once you use it, it will break, so be sure to collect it often.
大切なものや重要な道は宝箱や扉で守られている。それらを開けることができるのは、昔エルフたちが作ったといわれる、魔法のカギだけ。いちど使ってしまうと、こわれてしまうから、こまめに集めておこう。

キー / Key

A key needed to open doors and chests. If you take this, the number of keys you have will increase by 1.
扉や宝箱を開けるのに必要な鍵。これを取ると、持っているKEYが一つ増える。

マジックキー / Magic Key

It looks just like a regular key, but it functions as 20 keys. The fact that this is there means that there are many doors in the area nearby.
通常のキーと同じような格好だが、鍵20個分の働きをする。これがあるということは、次のブロックあたりに扉がたくさんあるということだ。

Note

In the MSX1 version, the upper limit of KEY is 100.
Taking key from a monster increases your KEY 1.
Taking a treasure chest increases your KEY 20.
MSX1版ではKEYの上限は100。
モンスターからキーを取るとKEYが1増える。
宝箱からキーを取るとKEYが20増える。

In the MSX2, FC, NES, and MOBILE PHONE versions, the upper limit of KEY is 109.
Taking key from a monster increases your KEY 1.
Taking a treasure chest increases your KEY 20.
MSX2, FC, NES, 携帯電話版ではKEYの上限は109。
モンスターからキーを取るとKEYが1増える。

You can open treasure chests and doors with a Key, but you can't open treasure chests with a Key Stick.
キーで宝箱と扉を開けることが出来るが、キー・ステッキでは宝箱を開けることは出来ない。
